Comrade Dare Durosimi was born to the Family of Durosimi from Ishagamu in Ogun State. He attended Yaba College of Technology where he received Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. He also attended University of Lagos and came out with Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration.
He furthered his educational career at Olabisi Onabanjo University where he received the award of Masters in Business Administration. He is an associate member of Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON). His work experience started in the year 2002 with Lagos State Radio Service.
His outstanding job performance positioned him for more challenging and tasking assignments. He became a pioneer marketing executive in charge of the new Traffic Radio from 2013 till date. He is a multiple award winner for excellent job performance and now the Head of Marketing, Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM.
Comrade Dare Durosimi started Unionism from his days in Yaba College of Technology where he served as the Student representative Council member of the Student Union Government in 2001/2002 academic session. His interest in advocacy and agitation for better welfare package brought him to limelight at Radio Lagos/Eko FM where he was elected as the chapter Publicity Secretary for two terms (2006 – 2011) and later served as the Financial Secretary from 2011- 2013.
His significant role during the 3days strike for Lagos state workers’ Minimum wage in 2011 caught the attention of members and union leaders. This brilliant performance made the chapter congress to unanimously nominated him for position at the State council. He was therefore co-opted as the Lagos State vice chairman in July 2012 which was duly ratified at the SEC and SAC meeting.
His exceptional contributions in Lagos State Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) have made him a foremost vanguard and a voice to reckon with in the issues of Parastatals in Lagos Sate. He became the acting Lagos state chairman in September 16th 2014 at the middle of intra union conflict.
He immediately swung into action by organising a 3day retreat for SEC and SAC members in Abeokuta which has been described as the first ever kind of retreat to be organised by the council to foster peace and resolve conflict among Union leaders;
He started the full implementation of the monthly SEC and SAC meeting to help find prompt solutions to any labour related issues;
He initiated and started RATTAWU LAGOS GAMES as part of the activities to celebrate workers day;
He coordinated an effective 3day strike in December 2014 which led to the immediate implementation of weigh-in allowance for Lagos State workers and creation of Media and Cultural Salary structure committee by the federal Government;
He imbibed the strategy of all inclusive decision making by involving members in decision making process particularly through formation of committees;
He successfully conducted elections of executives into several chapters in Lagos State;
He contributed to the gradual resolution of the Land issues and became the chairman of the Land resolution committee working with Stakeholders and State Security Officers.
Comrade Dare Durosimi was able to do all these in acting capacity; He provided a platform for peace and development in less than one year.
