The contingent of Buruj Sports Academy arrived the shores of the country on Sunday morning after emerging as Youth Trophy Champions of the just concluded TTD Super Cup held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
The Nigerian representatives against all odds overcame the stern test provided by home side Precor Academy by defeating them 4-2 in penalty shootout after the regulation and extra-time ended in 2-2 draw.
With this feat, Buruj Sports Academy are now the Double Champions, having won the 2017 edition of English International Super Cup in Manchester, the United Kingdom.
On arrival from the land of the Emirates on Sunday morning, the CEO of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, cannot hide his feelings as he praised his young boys for their spectacular showing throughout the duration of the tournament.
He also dedicated the trophy to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr.Akinwunmi Ambode, for providing enabling environment for the youths of the state to fulfil their God-given potential through his programmes and achievements.
He vowed that his academy will continue to unearth young talents and expose them to more tournaments and in the process create jobs and win laurels for the state.
The Ikorodu-based academy next port of call is Manchester, the United Kingdom in July where they will be expected to defend their crown won last year and preparation for that tournament has commenced in earnest
